Miss Hannah Ponsford
Year 3 Teacher
Hello! I'm Miss Ponsford and I'm absolutely thrilled to be your child's teacher this year.
I believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and inspired in the classroom. My goal is to foster a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive both academically and personally. I strive to create a space where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are embraced as learning opportunities, and every child feels empowered to reach their full potential. I understand that each child is unique, and I am committed to guiding them to grow and celebrate their successes—no matter how big or small. The joy of witnessing a child grasp a new concept, or seeing their confidence bloom, is truly at the heart of what I do.
When I’m not in the classroom, you can often find me surrounded by nature, embracing the simple joys of life. I’m a huge animal lover, and my two lively Springer Spaniels certainly keep me busy! Keeping active and being outdoors is something I'm passionate about. Whether it's taking the dogs on long walks or swimming in the sea, I find that being in nature recharges my spirit and keeps me energised. This love for the outdoors also influences my teaching, as I encourage the children to stay active, appreciate nature, and understand the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
As I enter my third year of teaching at St Day and Carharrack, I am excited about the adventures and challenges that lie ahead. I am eager to continue nurturing the children’s love for learning in a supportive and joyful environment. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead, filled with growth, discovery, and lots of smiles.
