At St Day & Carharrack, we value every child's achievements across the entire curriculum - however big or small.
It is, however, also a duty of ours to prepare the children for statutory assessments throughout their primary school journey in readiness for their next step in education.
For those children who are able to, it is a requirement that they are assessed across Reading, Writing, Maths and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) at certain key points.
The statutory expectations:
- Teacher assessment of attainment at the end of EYFS (this is known as achieving a 'Good Level of Development')
- Phonics Screening Check at the end of Year 1
- Multiplication Tables Check at the end of Year 4
- Statutory Assessment Tests at the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6)
The Headline Data document below shares the progress and attainment achieved by pupils at the end of July 2025.
The document is a snapshot of the whole cohort and we continue to be proud of each individual and the progress they make on their learning journeys through school.
