What to expect in EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Opal Class Year Reception

Early Years Foundation Stage (or EYFS) is where your child is welcomed into school, experiencing their last year of the journey within the Early Years foundation Stage framework.  Dedicated and trusted staff warmly welcome and support children into the community of St Day and Carharrack School. KS1 enabling environments are carefully researched and designed to play a key role in children’s development.  This includes a rich outdoor environment which is highly valued by all of us.  We have beautiful grounds, encompassing an orchard, extensive woodland for our forest school, a poly-tunnel for growing our own fruit and vegetables and independent learning spaces to explore and experiment in. 

The EYFS is the children’s first year of school life, learning about how they can aspire to be the Change-makers for THEIR  World.
