September 2020 School Return
Dear Families of St Day and Carharrack, Staff and Governors
We are very nearly at the end of one of the most unusual terms ever - thankfully! It is certainly a period of time that will go down in history - so do encourage your children to complete their 'Time Capsule' Booklets as we would love to celebrate these in September.
Please find attached four important documents which I hope will answer all your questions for a September re-opening. Please remember, the start date is for September - so your child will be going up a year group!
The class newsletters that have been delivered to you today really do show the strength of relationships and care in our community. A massive thank you to our brilliant staff team who have been faced with various challenges and pushed through many changes to make sure our children have been held closely in mind at all times. I would not have thought it possible, but parent relationships have flourished during this time apart! Thank you for supporting our efforts and engaging in the weekly phone calls with honesty. I have high hopes for the future ahead and everything we will be able to achieve by working together with a greater understanding of the needs of every child as an individual. There has been some great feedback from the 'lockdown questionnaires' and we will be able to implement a number of your ideas and suggestions. Thank you. This period of time has enabled us to really reflect on the most important aspects of education to ensure that when your children leave us, they are ready to face the World. We have exciting plans for our first term back together which will start with each and every child, our local community and 'Here We Are' in the World!
Equally, a massive thank you to an incredibly supportive and caring Governing Body for their continued support and challenge particularly during this time - as 'volunteers' they offer their time freely and have had to process a mountain of documents this term. Thank you!
I would like to end with a massive thank you to our children and to you all as parents with everything you have had to face and experience - hopefully with some really special moments to cherish. We will all be here in September, ready to receive everyone back! As I have said in the attached letter, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me this week if you have any queries or concerns.
For our new Reception parents, a detailed letter will follow this week explaining an extended transition and welcome to our School.
Wishing you all a happy and safe summer together,
With best wishes
