Year 3 sees our children move into Key Stage two and start to cover the National Curriculum which begins to broaden and deepen knowledge and understanding across all subjects. 
 
This year, Topaz's learning will be organised as per the information below.

Topaz Information - how you can help 
 
Spellings go home every Friday ready to be learned for the following Friday. Children will have the opportunity to practise these in school but it's helpful if you can take a look at these with your child. Thanks. 
 
P.E. kits need to remain on pegs for the entire half term. P.E. is scheduled for twice a week but weather dependent we get out when we can - having kit available means we can take advantage of good weather. Thank you. 
 
Reading records - please encourage your child to read anything of their choice every evening. Children in year 3 should be confident in attempting unknown words and with fluency. If a child can read fluently, they can start to comprehend the text. The more they read, the more skilled they become at this. Thank you. 
 
Times tables are looked at everyday in Topaz class. Times tables are crucial to support fluency in other areas of Maths. We use the 99 club to support this learning. You can find the sheet for each club and other useful links below:

P.E.
 
The link below takes you to Joe Wicks - the nations new P.E. teacher! He holds a live 30 minute children's workout at 09:00 every morning but you can access them anytime.

The beauty of this document is that the questions and prompts can be applied to any text. They are meant to be practised over and over again.
