Welcome to St Day & Carharrack Community School

A message from our Head Teacher:

     Welcome to our school's website.   Whether you are a new visitor or a more frequent reader, I hope you will find it useful, interesting and informative.   Our school is a busy, friendly, community school based on family values, serving the villages of Carharrack and St Day and surrounding hamlets.

Most children join our school in the year in which they are five, often joining us from Sunny Days Pre-school, but some join us later on in their school career.   They all settle quickly and happily into school life making friends, learning new routines.

St Day & Carharrack is fortunate to have committed governors, as well as talented and caring staff, all of whom are focused on giving children the best possible start for lifelong learning.   We all work well together as a team to provide the best possible education, to promote an all-round thirst for knowledge in a safe, secure environment, where children can have fun and develop the skills that will equip them for secondary school and later life.

We are very proud of our pupils' academic progress but our school is about much more.  Our website will give you a flavour of the many activities that our children will experience on their learning journeys - residential trips, music tuition, sporting activities, visits out and visitors in.  Photos of fabulous displays will show you examples of our creative approach to learning.   Our school environment continues to evolve reflecting our commitment to taking the learning outdoors as much as possible and our website provides a virtual tour of some of the features of our school building and grounds.

I very much hope you will save our website on your "favourites" so you can view it regularly.   We aim for it to be a great way for all members of our school community to keep in touch with what's happening at our school.
